Cameras Action And On To Bangor

At Haydock, Mighty Thunder found the step up into handicap company a bit of a question and though he tried hard he was caught out when the pace increased. He is still green and the experience will not be lost on him.

The Horse Scotland Awards at Airth Castle was extremely well attended and we were delighted to see our owners Debs and Belinda receive the Owners Award and for Derek to be awarded…

Back On The Yard And Pre Haydock

It was much more springlike this morning and with the fields starting to green up and the piles of snow nearly gone there is a good feeling that the harsh winter may be behind us.

The horses in training have been running consistently well all season and we are looking forward to a few bigger races next month as well as the summer team being unleashed.

The four year olds are at Arlary…

New Water Treadmill

We are always looking to improve the facilities here and after much research, we have invested in an ECB water treadmill.

The water treadmill allows walking or trotting in chilled salt water and is used to increase core strength, build muscle, aid recovery from racing and from injury both chronic and acute.

Having trained two experienced horsemen in the use of the machine, we have…

Winners And All Others Placed: A Round Up

While Scu and I have been down at Cheltenham the team here have been working together really well and we have had some excellent runs to show for it.

At Hexham Haul Us In won her second race in five days, given a super ride by Blair she went to the front after the second last and hold on grimly on the long run in. She has improved over the past few months and will be a great prospect for…

Pre Uttoxeter

We had another super winner yesterday when Celtic Flames won for Willie and Pat Scott, pictured, and good runs from the others who were all placed; we will have a proper round up tomorrow.

Yesterday Jaimie and Gemma arrived at Uttoxeter with three runners who will all love the heavy ground.

Big River has lots of talent and while he needs careful handling before the race he has shown…

Pre Musselburgh

We had a good day at Hexham yesterday with Haul Us In winning, a report will be posted later today. She is pictured in the winners enclosure with her proud owners, Blair and Mark.

It was fabulous for Musselburgh to be granted today’s replacement fixture and we have supported it with six runners.

Many of our summer team are back in work and two run in the first two mile hurdle: The…

Hospitality Arrivals And Pre Hexham

While our owners are enjoying the Edinburgh Gin hospitality box at the Cheltenham Festival, the team at home are working hard to prime the horses for the next few days racing.

We have had two new arrivals; on Monday the ECB water treadmill arrived and is being installed at Kilduff. On the horse front the four year old Milan gelding, Buddha Scheme was picked up by Jaimie from Philippa Gillie…

Imjoeking And Haul Us In Win At Ayr

It has been a good two days racing at Ayr and Imjoeking and Haul Us In topped off today with a brave double, and we had great runs from the others.

Imjoeking has been a super horse for his owner Kenny Alexander, winning seven times and today's win was a brave effort. While heavy ground suits him his speed is blunted by it but he showed a strong attitude to stay on from the last and to catch…

Seconds And Fourths And Ayr Tomorrow

We had improved runs from all four runners today and it was nearly a winner for Chasseur De Tete and the Skye Larks in the two mile novice hurdle. Back at home on the soft ground and flat track Chasseur got into a good rhythm and while he is still very weak he galloped all the way to the line to be just short headed in the last stride. It was a better run than his handicap debut and he will make…

Goodbye Snow Hello Ayr

It is great to see the end of the snow and despite a bit of frost we have been able to get back on the gallops again. With the hold up in work we will have fewer runners over this weekend but they should be back at the normal levels from next week. Pictured is Miss Joeking on turn out last weekend.

We have four heading to Ayr tomorrow, a mix of two young ones and two handicappers.
