A great morning on the yard and one that makes you feel good to be here. The sun helps, but so does the enthusiasm of our team, which is transmitted to the horses. At Kildufff we schooled the four horses who are due to run this weekend: Devito'sgoldengirl (Blair), Bab El Mandeb (Derek) and Morning Time (Cameron) over hurdles and Ballycool (Maisie) over fences. They are pictured coming in with Scu on Quito discussing the schooling.
Jaimie left early to deliver some of our rehoming horses: Castlelawn has gone to Gavin to do a bit of hunting and Blenheim Brook has found a super home with Yvonne to be a family horse. Our good friend, Fiona also picked up Ballybill who is going to jump with her, and hopefully do some ROR too.
Jaimie also met the C&C lorry and picked up Zezaal who we bought at Newmarket yesterday; he is a super big stamp and will start off in pre-training on Monday.
On the way home Jaimie picked up three from Clyde Vet where they have had wind operations, including the exciting youngster Le Frank. He travelled so well in his bumper at Newcastle until stopping in the closing furlong and we are hoping that he can run much better this season.
Meanwhile at the farm Will has made another 200 bales of haylage to add to the 400 bales that we have already made. There is just thirty more acres to mow and that should be done next week. We will have plenty for sale, both from this year and last years; it is all excellent quality and fully analysed.
