More Like It; Blooriedotcom And Prince Dundee Second

Blooriedotcom and Prince Dundee ran super races to both be second at Hexham, while Sky Khan was a close up sixth and naughty Make It Happen decided not to race.

Bloorie, pictured, has always impressed his riders with his attitude and way of going, but for his first few runs over hurdles, he has been keen and messy at his jumps. Today, with a hood added and given a cool ride by Derek, he settled and jumped slickly, staying on to be second to an odds on favourite. I have no doubt that he has scope for more improvement and there could be a bright future for this four year old.

Prince Dundee ran up against a well handicapped rival, and although he coped with the softer ground, he just could not get his head in front. He has come a long way from the depths of winter when his owners endured fifth places as Prince Dundee learned about racing, but his last four runs, two wins and two seconds are a credit to Blair and the team here and there will be more to come from him after a short holiday.

Make It Happen has been in great spirits at home and his stubbornness to not start was a surprise. Maybe if it had not been a standing start things would have been different but we will work on Make It Happen and he may take his chance at Perth next weekend.

Yesterday at Aintree Sky Khan ran a solid race, but while Thomas produced him to perfection, Sky did not manage to quicken past his rivals. A confirmed hold up horse we may have to try something different next time.
