Lucky Flight And Looks Like Murt Win At Kelso

It has been an incredible twelve days with winners flowing and it was super to have two more today with some exciting youngsters.

Lucky Flight won at Kelso last month and he followed up with another front running performance. He is an incredible little horse, a bit mad to ride at home, always keen to get on with his work, but genuine as they come. Stephen has done a super job settling him and he looked more relaxed this afternoon, coping with the softer going. We will find him another novice hurdle, possibly over further. In the same race Last King Of Wales traveled into the race but then found little, he is still on the weak side.

Looks Like Murt, pictured, has always been highly regarded and while he is over enthusiastic in his races he has loads of ability and through the race he learned to jump rapidly and accurately, to win running on strongly. It is a credit to his owner John Adam that he has been allowed plenty of time to mature and we will make a nice plan for him for the rest of the season. In the same race, Emirat De Cantana was running a blinder, leading then staying on when passed, but he got too close to the last taking a tumbling fall. The vets were excellent as ever and gave him plenty of time to recover from being winded and after a few minutes, he scrambled to his feet. He is back home and eating up his feed so we are hopeful that he will be fine tomorrow.

Our other chasers, Prince Dundee and Arizona Bound ran with credit. Dundee took a few jumps to get back into the swing of his chasing, but he then stayed on in the home straight but could not get past the resolute winner. Arizona Bound ran one of his better races, trying to drop himself out but then looking more competitive to be a one paced fifth. This was a small step forward.

Earlier A Ladies Milan ran well on debut, getting the idea of the faster hurdling pace and staying on to be fourth, while we were surprised how quickly Refer To Rory faded halfway through the race; she will be checked over in the morning. Finally, in the handicap, Izzy's Champion was too keen on the ground and did not stay the longer trip. He will have other days.

Congratulations to all at Arlary and Kilduff, for a fantastic start to the new season and great resultsat Perth's closing fixture. The horses have been running well and it is great to see the stable in such good form, you all work so hard and it is so good to see your hard work rewarded. Well done Lucinda and Scu, and I must mention Stephen who has schooled and settled horses so well.
    Onwards and upwards !

So happy to hear that Emirat De Cantana is well we all feared the worse when the covers went up. He got a great round of applause from us all in the hospitality. Seeing him trot by us made my day . Thank you
