Saturday runners at Hexham

A relatively quiet weekend with just the three runners at Hexham tomorrow, the Northumberland venue one we are particularly keen to support given they do such a great job with their watering system, providing a safe surface for our horses to race on.

Rapid Raider is our runner in the opening handicap chase, dropping back to 2m after failing to get home over 2½m last Saturday. The quick turnaround isn’t ideal, but we hope coming back in distance will lead to an improved performance.

We are represented in both divisions of the 3m handicap chase with Shanroe Street bidding to add to his course and distance success in April in division one. A good third in a higher grade at Kelso last time, he looks to have a leading form chance in what admittedly does appear the stronger of the two divisions.

Charmix goes in the second division 35 minutes later, and whilst he has been struggling to get competitive of late, he returns to fences following a confidence-boosting spin over hurdles and if he is ever going to bounce back to form it is going to be in a race such as this.
