We have had a great week on the yard with our flat winner and plenty of galloping and preparing the imminent racing horses. Scu and the jockeys have been schooling most of the week, and we have really enjoyed working the horses on the grass and woodchip as we peak the runners.
We start our Kelso nine declarations with the exciting Bollingerandkrug. Third on his bumper debut he was denied…
Ballyare was our first ever sprint winner at Newcastle this afternoon for owners the Bristol Boys. Waiting for a gap he had to push past horses in the final furlong but won nicely once given a clear run. Ballyare has been a most consistent horse and seems to love the all weather; there should be more opportunities for him there this winter.
We were delighted to pick up Mrs Melba Bryce's…
Buddha Scheme galloped back into form with a solid second place at Hexham over three miles; looking happier throughout the race he jumped better than last season and is turning into a dour stayer for Gerry.
Readysteadybeau had a super debut when fourth; although still very much a work in progress he travelled nicely through the race until the final hill found him out. However, he knuckled…
We have had a productive week at home, with just a couple of flat runners to keep us on our toes. We were delighted with the first time out two year old Aone Ally; a strong type he has been brought along steadily and was understandably green on this debut. He led three from home before showing his greeness but is definitley one for the future.
The rain over the past few days has eased the…
Looks Like Murt was nabbed on the line in the two and a half mile novice hurdle, but he ran a super race, travelling as strongly as ever and enjoying being back on the track. An athletic horse who is fairly lightly raced up to now he will probably be back chasing next time.
Shanroe Street could have done with softer ground as the principles kicked away from him, however, he stayed on and…
Kelso has had some rain already and is due more tonight so our gamble of declaring soft ground horses may come off. We had plenty of rain this morning; pictured is second lot at Arlary circling at the top of the gallops.
American Tom returns to the track having been in good form at home; a free-going sort he has been settled recently and while we will find out more about him tomorrow this…
Speak Of The Devil continued our fine run with a win in the three mile novice handicap chase at Hexham. Always travelling comfortably he jumped with more confidence and galloped away after the last. The win for The County Set and Peter Russell & Friends was justified after a string of placed efforts last season and he should continue to progress as he matures.
George Godsman, leader of the…
Every winner at Perth is special but three winners in a day is even sweeter and the hard work and team spirit of everyone connected with LRR was illustrated on Wednesday with Mint Gold, Celtic Flames and OrionInverness winning.
The novice chaser Mint Gold jumped with confidence against handicappers and galloped away after the last with Vinos Choice in hot pursuit. An improving six year old…
After a fabulous treble yesterday (full review to follow) we are back at Perth for the final time this year with eight runners.
Followers of LRR will know that we bought Red Missile at Newmarket August sales just four weeks ago since when he has learned about jumping hurdles and cantering over long distances around the farm. He has some smart flat form and if he translates it to hurdle races…
It feels odd to be running horses at Perth's Glorious Finale having had a very short summer jumping season, however it is great to have a lucky thirteen horses ready to run.
Magnum is having his first start in a handicap and while this looks a competitive race he should relish the step up in distance. Similarly Mannochmore should be fine at this two and a half mile distance and having been…
