Weekend Yardperson

One vacancy for a part time weekend yardperson

The job: Required for Saturday and Sunday 7am - 3.30pm. A yard based position but with riding out as experience dictates.

The horses: The position requires direct contact with horses, brushing off, washing off, turning out, loading onto and taking off the horsewalkers, and administering basic veterinary care to them. You may be asked to exercise the horses as your experience dictates.

The future: This is an ideal job for those wanting to either start off in racing, or to have an extra few days working with racehorses. For those keen to progress further we can recommend you for the courses at the British Racing School and Northern Racing College.

You: Previous experience in racing is not mandatory, however, the preferred candidate will have experience in horse care and a keen eye for detail. You will need to be physically fit and able to work in a structured routine. Good timekeeping and a disciplined outlook is necessary. Two references will be required.
