Pre Kelso And Goffs UK Sales

After a productive day at home, we are ready for Kelso tomorrow and have a lovely broodmare on her way to the Goffs sales at Doncaster.

Kelso still has good ground and our small team who like those conditions are ready for their outings there.

Mighty Thunder was a good winner last time at Kelso, despite being slowly away in the first half a mile. We have added cheekpieces tomorrow…

A Busy Weekend Racing With Mixed Results

The team had a busy weekend racing with some mixed results but lots of positives to be taken from the runs.

At Haydock One For Arthur was running a solid race until unseating Derek four out. Despite muttering from some quarters that Arthur had not been travelling through the race, we were not surprised to see him outpaced and were very hopeful as he came into the home straight passing the…

Looking Forward To Racing Tomorrow

After losing Musselburgh to frost today we are all looking forward to racing this weekend.

We had another camera crew in this morning, this time from Bet 365 and they endured the cold temperatures to take footage throughout the day. They are pictured interviewing Scu in the walled garden, with Cheetah not taking much part.

Jaimie and Steve left at lunchtime for Haydock where we have…

Ooops.. And Pre Musselburgh

An unlucky fall at Market Rasen five from home means that Ryalex has come home empty handed but we are all relieved that he and jockey Stephen are ok. Ryalex was travelling nicely until then and seems in great form; he will be back on the track soon. He is pictured being filmed on his 'good side' .

At home we waved goodbye to a number of our horses who have been rehomed; we are very careful…

And So To Market Rasen

A full day of work and media and a review of our runners coming up this weekend.

Gordon Brown was in to film for Racing TV's This Racing Life feature and also to film Jaimie in preparation for the Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards. There should be plenty of footage as the cameras were there for some schooling (Exit To Where, Mon Ami Bob and Speak Of The Devil) as well as the usual day…

Mumgos Debut Wins At Newcastle

A seventh chase win for the evergreen Mumgos Debut at Newcastle this afternoon made our day, and that of his owners, Peter and Suzy Brown. An honest chaser who has put his headstrong ways behind him, Mumgo battled in the home straight and a big leap at the last sealed the race for him. Peter and Suzy's first horse has been a star for them and he may have more to give on softer ground.

Emissaire is…

Monday Mornings And Pre Newcastle

A beautiful Monday morning to start the week and some fresh horses amongst the string as a few extras come back into work.

Kelso on Sunday saw Arizona Bound return to the track with a third placing and show some more enthusiasm once his confidence over the fences had been gained. A clever young horse he was shaken by a fall a few months ago and it was good to see him jump better as yesterday's…

Pre Kelso

The good going at Kelso has resulted in just two runners from the yard, while our other entries will need to wait for rain and soft ground.

Mint Gold has a good ground action and is gaining in strength all of the time. He came out of his last run well and while he needs more experience he is getting there mentally at home and we are looking for a solid run tomorrow.

Arizona Bound…

Jaimie Duff In The Final Three Of The Dedication To Racing Stable Staff Awards

There can be no more deserving finalist than Jaimie Duff for the Dedication To Racing award in the Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards.

A mainstay in our yard since we started in 1995 she has covered all roles and is now our assistant trainer and travelling head girl. But, those titles can never cover all that she brings to the yard, from organisation, logistics, to horse care and to…

Ayr And Schooling

No winners at Ayr today for us but some heartening runs for the future. In particular, Katalystic showed improved form to be fourth in the handicap hurdle, coping well with the soft ground and looking ready for a longer trip and fences. Blaydon is still immature and is another who really needs three miles in time.

Both our novice chasers Prince Dundee and Lost Frequency jumped well on their…
